The 30 year old, two bedroom
townhouse was not in great condition. It was structurally sound and
needed reworking to better utilize the available space. The client, a
talented artist and visual organizer, tended to keep everything in sight leading to an abundance of clutter. |

|
The challenge was to simplify, update and re-organize the spaces to better
suit the artist's needs. The other objectives were: environmental and efficiency
considerations; infusing the home with the colour green; and keeping
everything as simple to maintain as possible.
The overall budget for this project
was a fraction
of what is usually needed to produce the results shown here. Creative use
of locally stocked materials, recycling existing items, shameless scrounging, design on the fly, help from family, using trades and
professionals where required by code or necessity made the goals of the project
a reality. |
